The President’s role

At club meetings, the President generally does these things:

  • Greets guests as they arrive (as we all do).
  • Starts the meeting. (May offer a very brief TM history if there are guests, or tellĀ a short story or experience that is somehow related to TM or our club.)
  • Introduces the guests.
  • Acknowledges new members.
  • Introduces the Toastmaster of the Evening.
  • [The meeting proceeds.]
  • Congratulates members who completed theirĀ Icebreaker or who completed a manual or earned an award.
  • Asks guests for their comments.
  • Makes any announcements.
  • Wraps up the meeting.
